leisurely & excited!
tenpyo culture

Enjoy the ancient Tenpyo culture.

The Tenpyo culture flourished in this area during the Nara Period, mainly during the Tenpyo period (729-749) of Emperor Shomu. Heavily influenced by the Tang culture brought by the Japanese envoys to Tang, many Buddhist arts flourished, including the architecture and Buddhist statues that were designated as world heritage sites or national treasures. Now, why don't you feel the breath of the people of that time, transcending the time of 1,300 years?
